Are an Irish Chartered Accountant? Become a Member of CAIM
Membership is restricted to Fellow Chartered Accountants. Chartered Accountants with at least 10 years post qualification experience.
The annual fee (€240 for 2016) is used specifically to replace the website and to fund an professional / continuous marketing and content generation process in order to be relevant and visible to prospective client
There are no further restrictions on the previous experience of members, which significantly enhances the breadth of experience available to clients and other members. The majority of members have experience at senior Financial Controller & Finance Director level in industry, but many have operated as sole practioners or specialist in software, risk management, corporate finance etc
Prospective members are entitled to attend meetings for three months from the time they join the group before they are expected to pay their fee. This is to ensure that the group is suitable for their particular circumstances and facilitates members who have finished up long term employee roles and are unsure if they wish to pursue a permanent role going forward or to work as an Interim Manager.
New members are introduced to the group at one of the monthly meetings, and then given an induction process with the Resource Manager Damian Kennedy or one of the other Executive members. Once they decide to join the group,
- they are given access to the Website where their profile is visible to prospective clients
- They get a Group eMail
- CAIM Business Card (extra cost is payable directly to preferred supplier printer)
- A buddy / series of individual “1 to 1”networking meetings is arranged with existing members to ensure the concept of networking begins in earnest
The benefits of the group comes mainly from the deep network contacts that you develop as part of a group of like minded individuals (and not just from payment of the fees).
The members of the group provide mentoring support to new members on a voluntary / pro-bono mentoring basis. Individual members are independent self-employed FCA’s, and are responsible for their own Income tax / Professional Indemnity insurance etc. The only paid contributors to the group are the Website developer and Content Manager (who are not members of the group and were independently selected to provide their services).
We do not charge any fees for referrals to clients or fellow members and there are no commissions involved.
